Corrections policy and log
When Bandwagon gets something wrong, the fix is public: what was wrong, what it says now, and how it happened.
Policy
- What counts. A wrong number (a roster, a record, a contract figure, an Index value, a model line), a wrong fact about a person or team, or a sentence in a published piece that the data did not support. A method change is not a correction; it is a new version, announced on the method page.
- How fast. Data errors are fixed at the source table and the page re-renders within a minute; the log entry follows the same day. Article errors are fixed in the piece, which gains a dated note at the top, and logged here.
- Who decides. The editor, Paul Koziol. Writers cannot edit a published piece; a correction is made and signed off by the editor.
- Recomputed numbers. The Index for a completed week is not revised. If its inputs were wrong (a persona account that was not flagged, a banned account counted), the affected rows are recomputed under the same method version and the change is logged here with the weeks it touched.
- How to report one. Contact with the page URL and what is wrong. Every report is read by a person.
