Terms of use

Short, because the rules are few.

1. Your key

A key is personal to the Bandwagon account that created it. Keep it on a server. You are responsible for requests made with it until you revoke it.

2. Attribution (free tier)

Wherever data from a free key is shown to people, show the credit in the X-Attribution header ("Data by Bandwagon (https://bandwagon.fyi)") with a link to bandwagon.fyi, visible without interaction. Pro keys are exempt.

3. No resale of raw data

You may build products, analyses, articles, apps and models on the data and sell those. You may not redistribute the dataset itself, or a substantial part of it, as a dataset, feed or API, on any tier. Caching to serve your own product is fine; mirroring it for others is not.

4. No official or real-time claims

Do not present schedules, results or rosters from this API as official or as real-time. Say where they come from if asked.

5. Sentiment is about teams, not people

Sentiment and the Index describe what a crowd thinks of a team or a public figure in their public role. Do not use them to score, rank or target individual users of Bandwagon, and do not try to re-identify anyone from them. Every number is an aggregate with a sample size for a reason.

6. Fair use of the service

Respect the limits; they are generous and the headers tell you where you stand. No scraping around the limits, no sharing keys across customers, no use that harms the service.

7. No betting products

The data may not be used to set, publish or settle wagers or odds.

8. Changes and availability

Endpoints are versioned under /data/v1. Fields may be added; removals and changes of meaning get a new version and notice. The service is provided as is, with no uptime guarantee on the free tier.

9. Termination

We may revoke keys that break these terms. You may stop at any time by revoking yours.

10. Who we are, liability and law

The Data API is run by knit cage LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801. These terms add to the terms of use; the disclaimers and the limit of liability in its "As is, and our liability" section apply to the Data API too. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, and disputes go to the state or federal courts in Sheridan County, Wyoming, except where the law of the place you live keeps protections that these terms cannot take away. If this page and the terms of use differ on the Data API, this page governs.
